PAYMENT OPTIONS

At Rooted Dental Wellness, we strive for transparent financial arrangements. After your new patient experience, our patient care coordinator, Lyndsey, will go over different financial options to be able to meet your oral health needs. If using insurance, estimates will be provided based on the information your insurance gives us. If you do not have insurance, options for in house membership, pre-payment discounts, and payment plan options will be given at the time of your new patient experience.

DENTAL MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM: A dental membership is an alternative to “dental insurance”. We say “dental insurance” because let’s be real, how is it actually insurance? At best, it’s a savings plan. Dental insurance maxes our patients out of benefits usually around the $1,000 dollar a year mark. Which means if you get injured and break several teeth, if you have a tough year medically and become orally compromised with several areas of decay, insurance will only realistically help you with 1 tooth. Cavities are a whole mouth disease, and rarely just affect one tooth. So, we have created a dental membership to offer our patients that have no waiting period, no downgrading of services, no annual maximum, and no deductibles. Click here to learn more!

PAYMENT PLANS: One of our most popular payment options is our easy payment plans through Cherry, where you can treat now but pay later. With Cherry, it’s not a credit card, which is super cool. Patients can set up easy payment plans for purchases up to $25,000. Applying has no affect on your credit score. Ask our staff about applying or apply by clicking here. If you have any concerns or questions about CareCredit and or Cherry, please call our office at 805-270-4259. Another payment plan option is with CareCredit, which is a credit card, and offers an array of different plan options that offer low monthly payments (some that are even with 0% interest) that helps you pay for dental treatment for you or your family. INSURANCE: We accept all PPO dental insurances as out-of-network providers. This means you can use your dental insurance at our office and we bill them for you as a courtesy. We take pride in being out-of-network providers so that we do not have to downgrade your dental treatment based on an insurance company’s requests. This allows us to be able to deliver the best treatment options and the best dental materials to all of our patients. We do not accept any HMO policies. If you have Delta Dental insurance, click here to learn how it works in our office. If you are wondering if dental insurance is for you, click here.

Why do we choose to work with all PPO insurances, but not contract with them?: For your dental office to be an in-network provider with dental insurance, the practicing dentist(s) must agree to provide services with constraints mandated by the insurance company. Commonly, insurance companies downgrade services for the patient, such as only reimbursing patients for amalgam (silver/mercury) fillings, but not biocompatible composite (tooth colored) fillings. In this case, it benefits the insurance company because they get to pay the least amount possible, but the patient gets the short end of the stick with a sub-par dental material.

For these reasons, it is not in the best interest of the practice as well as our patients to work with many dental insurance companies on the market in a contracted way.
